The intro to the story. The frigate Orpheon sent out a distress signal, and Samus answers the call, with a selection of upgrades.
Unfortunately, the Parasite Queen has made a real mess of things, killing/maiming much of the Space Pirate crew and deorbits the frigate after getting shot to pieces by Samus.
Apparently our ship is good at hiding despite pirate efforts to find it. Also hub links to multiple other areas to explore.
Dusty and dry, but very poor conditions and unusuable water supply until Samus clears out the toxins being dumped in.
Lava and firey, Magmoor Caverns needs Varia suit to progress otherwise you will die. Ice beam works well on the turrets, and there's a few neat sections of spider ball track that you can go on.
Like Magmoor caverns, it is hot and perilous, but with an extra "a".
Our character and protagonist. Doesn't usually talk. Heavily armed.
Initially on the Frigate to supervise the transport of phazon infused goods, it leaves and flies to the surface of Tallon IV instead of dealing with Samus (kinda like what happens at the start of Super Metroid).
Meta Ridley is later spotted gliding away from Phendrana Drifts, presumably to scout out another area.
Maybe we'll see him later.
Remnants of Chozo who did not gain enlightenment and were driven mad trying to contain the phazon that crashed onto their planet. They like going invisible, but they can't attack unless they take corporeal form.
Annoying space pirate construct that can't be locked onto. Combined with the unwieldy controls led to a death and wasted an entire hour of gameplay.
Weaknesses: Spam
Annoyingly powerful if you let them melee you. Otherwise, match the beam to the pirate. Ice pirates are easy to handle.
